Review - How ready to cook dinner kits work!

Dinner Kit
Ready to cook dinner kit by Hello Fresh

“There’s not enough time in modern lives to recipe-select or grocery-shop.”
Ready to cook people buy, measure, cut, chill, box and ship every ingredient to your door. All the home cook has to do, in theory, is click on “order,” open a box and follow a recipe.
This ready-to-cook meal is called the dinner kit.  These new services, including Blue Apron, Plated and HelloFresh, — is the latest in a stream of technological innovations and corporate interventions, from the cake mix to the cookbook app, that have long promised to relieve Americans of kitchen drudgery while retaining the flavor and cachet of home cooking.
Home-delivered food, of course, is not news, and neither is online shopping. Over the last decade, services like Peapod and FreshDirect have accustomed millions of consumers to buying fresh ingredients online, while frozen-dinner delivery businesses like Schwan’s have sold them on fully prepared meals.
But the dinner kit aims for a sweet spot somewhere between the bunch of asparagus and the finished asparagus-stuffed salmon. And it addresses some paradoxes peculiar to today’s home kitchens: while Americans, fed a steady diet of TV cooking shows and nutritional news, care increasingly about what they eat, many feel too harried to hunt down new recipes and make dinner from scratch. Yet they remain unwilling to live on takeout and heat-and-eat meals alone.
“Heating food up night after night is not what a mom does. That’s no better than taking them to McDonald’s. ”

Home Cooking for Busy mothers - made Easy & Quick

You know what I love about cooking at home ? Obviously, its more healthy, sumptuous & nutritious. But most exhilarating and appealing are those smells of cooking that you get in the house. The mouth-watering smell, that stimulates my partner and my toddler in the direction of the kitchen, like a honey badger to the beehive. These smells are engrained in the memories of your families mind. In future when they grow up and have a bite of similar food.... the taste and flavor of that bite will take them back to the days when you cooked together.

Treat your Mother home cooked meal on Mothers Day

Mother's day home cook meal

Mother’s Day is here and there are numerous ways in which you can show your mother, love and appreciation. There is plethora of gift options available for you to indulge her. But cooking a meal for her would be the perfect and most personalized way to pamper her. Its best way to show appreciation, for all those meals that your mother cooked for you with love and dedication, for all these years.

Although I am well aware that taking her out to eat would be much easier in every way. Also accounting for my busy schedule I would have done that, like every other year. But this year I want to treat her home made gourmet. Any other time it would seem too ambitious….but with ready to cook fresh food delivery services….I dare say that I am cooking her a meal this year and indulging her to experience the love and dedication we (me and my brother) experienced as kids.

For Main Courses I have decided to cook Sesame Nectarine with Chicken and Rice. (thanks to Hello Fresh). And To end the Mothers Day meal I would have chocolate Truffles and some Dutch coffee to sip on.

If this dish were a place, it would be a sunny little fishing village on the coast of Sardinia. A great blend of savory tomatoes, spicy chili and sweet shrimp.
